Chiu Ching-Ting (邱敬婷), born in 1983 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Chiu initially studied Visual Communication Design at university. After graduation, she shifted her focus to fiber arts, with her early works primarily centered on wool felting techniques and innovative textile design incorporating mixed media. In 2012, she earned certification as a Wet Felting Instructor from the Taiwan Wool Felting Promotion Association, accumulating extensive experience in both artistic creation and craft education.

In pursuit of a more nuanced exploration of craft aesthetics, she entered the Graduate Institute of Applied Arts at Tainan National University of the Arts in 2016 and obtained her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in 2019. Her practice specializes in fiber materials and textile-based expressions. Through weaving techniques, she reinterprets the spatial relationships between point, line, and surface, integrating the tactile qualities of fiber with personal life experiences, sensory perceptions, and broader reflections on social consciousness and collective relationships.

調性」為名

纖維藝術的「調性」展現於材質、紋理與色彩的交融,透過柔韌與粗糙的對比,傳遞情感與觀點。這種無聲的語言在作品與觀者之間共鳴,訴說時間、記憶與人性的故事。

The tonality of textile art emerges through the interplay of material, texture, and color. By contrasting softness with coarseness, it conveys emotions and perspectives. This silent language resonates between the artwork and the viewer, narrating stories of time, memory, and human nature.
